Manus Gabriil AXDW show: The make-up rehearsal

Yesterday afternoon I was invited to the make-up rehearsal for the Mercedes-Benz Athens Xclusive Designers Week show of the new designer Manus Gabriil. The make-up was done by Emmanuel Apostolakis, Head Make-up artist of Make up Forever in Greece, and the model was Niki, one of the 10 models chosen by the designer for his show. Let me show you the exclusive photos I took, just for you:



The make-up was inspired by the Lanvin F/W show: Smokey eyes, bold eyebrows and nude lips. I also asked Manos about the hairstyle: He said that the hair will be parted and a loose ponytail will be made. He doesn't want a sleek look, the ponytail will look like the model made it by herself.



Manos also gave us a hint about the collection he will present: 'black and white tailoring'. It sounds really interesting, so make sure you won't miss his AXDW runway show!



Did I mention that the make-up was made with Make up Forever products? Emmanuel was kind enough to give me a few samples to try them out myself.

Les Misérables

 

These pics were taken on a rainy day, I went at my boyfriend's house for a visit. He recently bought the book 'Les Misérables' because he hasn't read it yet (neither have I, to be honest, I recently finished reading the Silmarillion) and I borrowed it to accompany me in today's outfit post.



All the outfit is about the high-waist shorts I bought a long time ago from H&M, because it reminded me of those Dita Von Teese wears. I tried to combine it with a white shirt, burgundy tights and pumps before, but the result was a little extravagant. That day though I figured out that, if combined with leggins in a total black outfit, it actually looks nice and simple (ok, simple for a girl who listens to metal music, but you get it).



So, about my news: The semester has already started and I have to attend my uni classes everyday, but I'm not really complaining. I also learned that one of my friends is coming to Athens next week (he studies at Thessaloniki) and we're planning to go at a costume party or something. I have already bought myself a new wig I craved for a long time.and cannot wait to wear it! What about you, do you have any plans for Mardi Gras?

Where the wild roses grow

So, spring is officially here and we all dream of girlie dresses and flowers, but it's still kinda cold, I stayed in bed all morning yesterday because I was ill. Anyway, let me show you what I wore some days ago, when my boyfriend and I went shopping at the Mall Athens:

This is my new H&M pink pants (I think you all know I'm a sucker for cute, pink stuff), I combined it with a comfy Zara jumper, all-stars and my Le Pandorine bag to create a casual outfit.

And this is the rose Nikos gifted me that day, he's waaay too sweet.

These pics were taken some days ago, when my boyfriend and I went for lunch at Papa George's (near Dafni metro station, you can find really tasty onion rings there).

Lucky 13

So, 2013 is here. I celebrated New Year's Day at my boyfriend's house, he was co-hosting a party with his brother. I chose a total black outfit (the dress is from Tally Weijl) and spiced it up with a headpiece with snowflakes (I find it more interesting than a Santa hat).
